My short animated documentary, No One Is an Island, gave me the opportunity to return to hand-drawn effects while working in Toon Boom Harmony.
A few things I've animated
My first experience of professional FX animation came during an internship at Walt Disney Feature Animation in France, animating a test scene of a hearth fire for Winnie the Pooh.
Soon after, I was offered a job as an animator on Disney’s The Tigger Movie, at Tandem Films, animating most of the effects in Tigger’s Family Tree song sequence, under the direction of Chris Butler.
Since then I've worked on effects for feature films, television, commercials and short films, including Thunderbirds, How to Cope with Death, The Astronomer's Sun and the Cartoon Network pilot 100 Head Eddy, as well as a number of television commercials.
I've worked with everything from charcoal and pencil animation through to digital animation in Toon Boom Harmony.
Transitioning from paper, I created a series of official Toon Boom Harmony tutorials on hand-drawn effects, from animation to compositing.
For The Astronomer's Sun, I animated smoke and sparks in charcoal over photo-stats of the stop-motion animation.
